We are having a Heli fun-fly this weekend and have a number of park flyers who have become interested in flying in the event (at the last minute). We have told them they need MAAC in order to participate. Can you get your MAAC membership immediately if your order it online? Is there any way for them to get MAAC before tomorrow?

I bellieve that if the contest is sanctioned through MAAC, and has a "proper" Contest Director, then any participants who wish to join may do so by paying the appropriate fee directly to the CD,

It was this way many years ago - when I was CD for pattern contests. I think we even received special forms in the contest package.

Now MAAC membership by competitors is almost a moot point. No one would even think about entering a contest without it.

As far as I've been told, as soon as you pay for the MAAC (ie by fax or email), you are covered....not sure if it is true, but this is what I was led to believe.

Your club Treasurer or other officer can sign up these fellows for MAAC, and provided you have the form and the $$$ they are covered as soon as they sign. This is a sure fire way you know they are covered - also a good oportunity to get them to join and become part of your club and remain involved.

Don't forget the MAAC deal if they are new members. Provide a current MAAC # and they get 1/2 off.
