Hey Racers,

Welcome to the New Year. A new year brings a whole new season for off-road racing, and the only way to kick it off is with the Canadian Off-Road Shootout. TILLSONBURG!!!!!

That’s right…it’s back! This year, better, bigger, and more NITRO then ever! Get your kits ready and prepare to open a Nitro season that will put Ontario in the record books.

This year, the Canadian Off-Road Shootout will be under new management with a new structure, and a new crew. And in true Average Joe’s fashion, the whole event will focus on fun racing, with great competition
Feature for the 2012 Canadian Off-Road Shootout;

•Indoor pitting – Pit space will be available on the ground floor and second level of the enclosed section of the building. Space available will allow up to 150 people to set up in a safe, nitro-smoke free area

•Track designed and built by Eat Dirt Racing

•Upgraded sound system – A professional PA system and FM transmitter will be brought in to help floor the building with sound for the event to ensure the drivers, pits, and track are able to hear the race director

•Controlled Practice – To ensure even and safe practice time for all classes, timed and class control practice will be in place for the entire weekend

•Exclusive Practice time for pre-paid entries - Pre-Registered and Pre-Paid entries will have exclusive practice time on Friday until 6PM

•Longer Qualifiers – Qualifiers for all classes will be extended to 7-Minutes to allow more track time for all racers

•The early bird gets more track time – The building will open at 7AM on Saturday and Sunday to allow practice time and an early start to the events

•Pre-planned schedule – The event schedule will be posted to make sure everything stays on track and the event runs smoothly.

•7-Minute Qualifiers and AAA-Main for Electric Classes – To help add value, electric classes will be given 7-Minute qualifiers and AAA-Mains to even out track time

•A dedicated crew – There will be a dedicated crew to assist with the event to make sure all administration work, track repair, and running around is done without impacting the racing

The goal this year is to start a new era. A new Canadian Off-Road Shootout that is the talk of the year, and an amazing way to kick off the Nitro outdoor dirt season.

Thanks,
‘Average’ Joe

Important notes:

•This will be a Nitro as well as an Electric event. It is your responsibility to understand and accept the risks involved with all equipment and products used. Inhaling Nitro fumes can create short and long term health concerns, and LiPo batteries can catch fire and/or explode. Please also remember that R/C cars are heavy and travel at a high rate of speed. By registering for this event, you are acknowledging that you are aware of such dangers and are accepting all risks and responsibilities. Event organizers, property owners, sponsors, and other attendees are free from immediate and future liability.

•All Qualifying will be completed on Saturday. Depending on participation, this may mean a very long day. Be prepared to run until the running is done

•There will be a limitation set to the amount of pit space each attendee is permitted. Maximum indoor pit space is limited to 150 people, giving each person a 3’x2.5’ space. Pit space is first come, first serve, and once the indoor areas are at capacity, it is the attendees responsibility to locate a suitable alternative. Pitting with the track area is permitted, but strongly discouraged.

•Attendees are responsible for bringing their own pit tables, chairs, power cables, power bars, and other items needed for their pit area. Building power will be provided, but will be shared by all attendee’s.

•Attendees are encouraged to make arrangements with each other to share tables and supplies to help reduce the amount of space needed to pit. A high attendance will require shared pit space in order to fit as many people as possible inside the protected area. Our goal is to make everyone as comfortable as possible, that there will need to be compromises made to help each other out

•Average Joe’s R/C will be present with a small shop to supply some of the basics. In order to allow more pit space, the size and supply of the shop will be limited so racers will have more indoor pit space. Tires, fuel, and other must have items will be available.

•All classes will qualify with an IFMAR start, and ‘best two’ qual points will be used to decide placement in the mains

•Short Course trucks are limited to 2-Cell Lipo, 540/550 motors, wheels, tires, and closed wheel bodies designed for Short Course

•With longer qualifying and AAA-Main for Electric classes, be prepared for the additional batteries that may be needed to finish your day

•Lipo changing bags are required for the event. And they need to be used.
