I've recently had a few items for sale here on RCC and lately I've had people not returning PM's after I've either accepted their offers, or sent a counter offer. This has happened several times and I find it rude as it leaves me wondering as to whether I can sell the item to someone else or not - especially if I have already sent them my Paypal info.

Is this happening to others and am I the only one that finds it rude? Maybe these people don't know that you can go to their profile and see that they have been active on here, and definately have gotten your PM.

Yes I agree with all of the above. Mine was more the other way though asked about something advertised and was told I could go to great planes and check it out. This wasn't a problem. The problem was that the item advertized was a Carl Goldberg so I asked for clarification received non and noticed it was marked sold.

I'd say in 9 out of 10 cases I've received prompt and courteous responses and now and again downright generosity!
Over the while I've noted those that I would hesitate to deal with and gone with a gut feeling that has worked for me, but, yes, it is downright rude!
I don't know why but anything I offer, does not even solicit one response ever, oh well.

Since this is a public form, good manners a la Miss Manners can't be enforced. My suggestion is to let it flow off of you like water on a duck's back.

Alternative would be to go to a swap meet.

Water off a ducks back for sure, but it s still a pain in the butt, when you got five other people who are in line to buy the item off you and the first person doesn't get back to you, you give them a week or so, then you sell it to the next person in line, and the first guy gets all upset with you two weeks later?
Oh well par for the course I guess.

I'm just asking this question in general and you don't need to reply: Did you send buyer #1 a note that said "haven't heard from you in X days. Unless I hear from you by (2 days at a specific time), I'll be going to the next person in line."

I buy and sell on eBay and this happens to a lot of the people that I buy from so I always let them know if there's a delay (eg, loading up the PayPal account because a buyer hasn't paid me yet) and keep them informed if there's a delay.

I've even had to apologize to one seller since there were serious problems with getting funds to the PayPal account (my fault) and offered to cover his relisiting fees. Response was: thanks but don't worry, I'll wait.

I figure if it's been more than a few days, and I can see that they've been active on here without sending me a PM, then they probably aren't going to follow through with their end of the bargain. I'm not even sure that I want to deal with someone anymore at that point. If they don't have enough respect to take a minute and send a PM, then what other crap are they going to pull? At that point the trust is gone.

If they don't want follow through with their end of the agreement, at least man up and tell the other party.

I wonder if there is a problem with PMs? I had an unread PM sitting in my inbox for 4 days and I never received notification at the top of the user CP as per normal.
