Is this the future? I think it will indeed be a viable alternative very shortly! Should be good for those sound scores!

Actually the sound tests of Jasons plane was quite high, he was testing 93.5 (the limit is 94). I think its the gearbox whine and the size of the prop that was causing his noise to be so high. In the air its pretty quiet, still not as quiet as a 4 bladed two-stroker though. I thought it would have been quieter, apparently they can make a gearbox that runs silent but Jason said that he wanted some noise so he could audibly determine his throttle changes.

Might make more of a difference in IMAC as I think you guys get more noise from the exhaust than a pattern model does but I may be wrong about that. Jason was using a prop that was about 6" larger in diameter than most others so that also likely contributed a lot noise.
