Blade CP help in Vancouver?
Hello,
I'm wondering if there is someone familiar with the BCP in the Vancouver area who would be willing to have a look at my BCP and give it a test fly. I'm teaching myself to fly it and have spent a lot of time trying to get it dialed in - trim, pitch, tracking, gain, and proportial settings. But I just cannot sustain a hover for more than a couple of seconds. I can hover all day in G3 - nose in and tail in. I can even do mild 3D. However I have yet to have any sort of controlled flight more than a foot or so off the ground with the real deal. I have read about people having no problem hovering this beast. I'd just like to know if its just my dumb thumbs, and I need practice, or if there is something unstable about my heli. It did have a pretty good crash: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_3997456/tm.htm but what damage was done, I repaired. It even seems a little better after the repairs. Thanks! |

Flight simulators are not as accurate as the real thing,
Your blade cp might suffer from the sticky linkage sindrome Check and see how free they move , Eric

Well, everything SEEMS okay, all the linkages move freely. I don't really know what to look for, hence my query that if someone who does could look at it, and confirm I'm doing the right thing. I've been messing about with the head and swashplate a lot, but I'm pretty sure I've got everything set up correctly. I've been refering alot to the Blade CP Build thread over on RCU.

The shop you bought the heli from should be your source of help.
Otherwise visit one of the many helis flying fields around Vancouver. There are many guys who are willing to help you, I think :=) I didn't know the Langley shop sold helis. Ken |

I got some help with mine this weekend from a great guy at my club. One of the things he told me to remember is that there is a delay between your inputs and the response of the bird. I had learned this the hardway but it was nice to hear. Getting help and tons and tons of practice is the only way. I am lucky in that I fly 3d and hover my planes. Hovering a plane is very, very similar
Good luck and keep at it!
