Hey everyone, is there an electric conversion for a Venture 30?
I would like to set up my spare heli that way if possible.
Thanks in advance!
Myles

Nothing out there.

I have a converted Venture 50 (metal frames). Mechanically, it should be a similar process. Mine only used 2 cross members and a plate to support the outrunner. Gear ratio is the same as the nitro version but I am swinging 680mm blades as opposed to the normal 600's.

The tough part was in choosing a motor and battery combination that would suite the type of flight I needed.
Once I got that right, the heli really flies well. Flights are 12 minutes on a 12 pound heli and a 4000 Mah battery.

By the way, if you are interested in using Nimh packs, I have a few used 22 cell packs for sale.

What motor and ESC did you end up using?

My setup is overkill for a 30 sized heli. It is currently lifting a 12 pound camera ship on 680mm blades.

Is this setup for regular flying of 3D?

Motors and ESC

Thanks, i know NOTHING about electric setups so your info gives me a starting setup to go by.
Did you just do the conversion yourself or did you purchase a conversion kit?
Thanks for any info!

No, I bought the Airfoil 50 Helicam package. When I blew the first motor, it was an oppertunity to re-visit the power system.
The airframe is now the cheapest part

Math now plays a large part of my flying.

Myzee, how is the skycam buisness there? Wondering how succesful folks are with aerial photography. Part time or full time?

I had played with the idea of doing the same thing my self but didn't think the returns would be there.
