Building a brushless boat

I am looking to build a brushless boat. I own a traxxas nitro vee but its just not what I am looking for so I will be selling it and building a new boat. To start off I guess what is a good hull. I have bought lots of goods off HobbyKing before and I found a hull like this but I am looking for opinions on what to buy.

http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store...dProduct=11983

Ideally I'd like something reliable and strong. For instance (im my books traxxas = weak, but if you spend a bit more money and buy a mugen your buying the best, strongest vehicle- again its just my opinion) and like offroad r/cs im sure there is a price point somewhere. I have a Mamba Monster and a Castle Creations 2200kv motor in my Mugen MBX6T. I dont mind spending money on good products if its going to be reliable so when I want to use it, I can.

I currently own 2 - 5000 mah 40C 4S LiPo batteries for my Mugen so if theyd work perfect, if not - no biggie.

So to start it off I am looking for a hull, ESC and motor and batteries and any other parts needed to get running. The water I run on is quite calm but I am not looking for insanse speeds or anything like that.

Thanks

Chris

re brushless boat

if you want a fast rtr out of the box boat you should check out the pro boat blackjack 26 brushless cat.

out of the box over 30 mph on 4s lipo.

i also owned a traxxas nitro vee and sold it quickly as i wasnt very happy with its performance but the new traxxas brushless deep vee boat looks to be a decent rtr. even comes with a 2.4 ghz radio. it will do over 50 mph out of the box on 6s lipo.

Is RTR the way to go for brushless boats? I just know with almost all RTR traxxas products I've owned they are seriousely lacking quality on some part or another. I just dont want this to happen again

re brushless boats

rtr is the way to go with brushless boats if you are under budget constraints.

i have a hydro & marine step 4 mono hull with a castle hydra 120 amp high voltage esc and a neu 1527 1y motor which i run on 6s.

to buy everything to build it was over 1000.00 .

the new traxxas titan rtr brushless boat looks to be a very nice quality boat.

if its like their e-revo in terms of quality it will be a big seller imo.

Do you have any pictures of the boat thrash?

I dont mind paying that kind of money for something if its good and reliable. I Just looked it up the ESC is like $175 USD, since I have friends in the states I could get it here without any duties just take a while to get it driven up. The motor is a little pricey but im sure that there is other alternatives. What else is required to building a boat, some sort of prop and shaft , hull, and an Rx. I have a 3pmx radio so im sure I could use it?
