I'll be at the same stage sone with my Jet Cat P120, first startes first flights. Heart rate kicks up a notch just thinking about it.

Glen -
1. just drain fuel tanks but do not drain header
2. make sure manual fuel shut off valve is closed
3. put a plug in your vent line

Fuel will not drip into your turbine nor anyplace else.

Next time you want to do a start up or fly, just fuel and go. Nothing else is required.

I just flew one of my jets today for the first time in 5 months. Put fuel in it and it fired
right up.

As more proof of not needing to do anything else, I bought a plane that had not been started in 2 years. All I did was put fuel in it and it fired up just great.

Re: Oh...My...God. I'm still shaking.

I remember my first start - my WRen kit engine (back when you had to balance it yourself and autostart was just a dream ) I was pretty much in awe and couldnt believe it was running.

It is still exciting now, even though I have run many engines many hours worth.

I have my new Behotec 55 almost ready to fire up... and will probably have the shakes then as well

I remember firing up my wren 70 last year as it was my first turbine. Im sure everyone here will agree, that every time you fire one of these badboys up, it puts a smile on your face

Re: Oh...My...God. I'm still shaking.

My neighbors still make me pull the jet out so the kids can see it run... Ya sure, the kids eh lol! Must say the first flight is pretty much terrifying, but a big rush after it's back terra firma. I equate it to the first time I went paragliding. Walking of a perfectly good cliff, yahoo!

Cheers!

Re: Oh...My...God. I'm still shaking.

When do you think you'll be ready to fly? I'm thinking of heading to Grand Forks and burn some fuel. Weather couldn't be better this time of year. I'm looking forward to trying some new flap/spoiler/airbrakes settings so I can comfortably land at the Kelowna field.
