Hi everyone,

The Sky Harbour Modelers event is still ago and interest is strong following the tornado which hit town on Sunday. The Mayor of the town gave his continued support for the event to continue today as he wants to see some normalcy return to town.

The airport was undamaged by the tornado and the nearest substantial damage is about 3 kms away from the event.

The downtown area will be off limits as it is now fenced off, but all the streets are clear of debris now and moving freely.

Good to hear some normality is returning

Have seen the pictures and videos. I can't believe the destruction and what was left after.

Hi aceplant00, NO normality is not returning yet! You have to see the devastation to believe it! It will be a long time before "normality" is achieved! Having said that, I hope this event is well supported. Thanks.

Glad to hear this event is still on schedule. Wish you the best of luck.

I lived through 2 tornadoes, (one that took the roof off our house while we were in it) and also in Essex, ON when the town blew up, so I can relate to what you're going through.

On that note my sister and her husband are on the way up there in a few hours to see if their cottage survived.

I'm planning on coming down. Do you have any grass areas for belly landing planes like gliders?

yes. there will be some grass areas to land a glider as long as you can hit a narrow strip.
