Re: MAAC being under investigation by its own members!

At first I thought this might be a good thing, a page I might even bookmark for future reference. But the more I read, the more I found it to be rather useless.

It was hard to follow the "Incidents" with so much information blacked out.

Given what I know/heard/read about some of some of the the "Incidents" posted there, I question the validity of what was posted. It only represents a one-sided view, and we have no idea who is filtering the information to provide ONLY a one sided view in their favor. I think RC Canada is a better forum for discussing issues because both parties can make their views known, and it can be discussed "on the fly" rather than the smatterings you will get after someone has filtered and selected what will be posted on the site.

I'm on Max's side - this looks like a lot of 'Sour Grapes' on someone's part.

As this 'David Harris' is not likely to be a true identity I put as much faith in him and his Web Site as I do in the belief that Unicorns and Lepricons are real.

I'm heading to the workshop to work on a plane!

Re: MAAC being under investigation by its own members!

It’s funny, I just received an email from this same guy (Dh87, who BTW, I think, he’s not a real person, I mean… first post ever, not even a name we know… (I went here to inform you, but it appears “he” is faster then I think…)

Anyway, I checked this web site, and even if it look stupid, the idea is not that bad… I’m not anymore that much in the hobby (being crasy to buzy), but I was pretty much implicated some time ago and I can tell you that it is not that false that the MAAC is in bad state… Just remember Ron Dodd resignation, and rumour about the maac losing it “Not for Profit” certification, etc. There is for sure something going in the wrong way…

Max : I don’t think the objective is to talk, but to gather information, so being able to give details and info anonymously seem good to me, I mean, people being afraid to share their story can now do it safely… (while doing it here (on RCC), mean they have to do it openly)

And I guess the info they posted was more to show us the kind of information they are looking for, so, not to show us what they have… They state in one post that they have a lot of info, but that they cannot publish it…

And, posting stuff like this may be dangerous, I understand why they hiding some info. Trust me, If that was my name in those info, I would be happy to see those red line over it… lol…

And for who is behind this… A long as I’m not the one in their target… If it helps clean the irregularities they (maac insider) talk about… boff…

Re: MAAC being under investigation by its own members!

I hear you Robin. Maybe its good that some of the stuff gets out in the open so that the MAAC members can see where their money goes (or is wasted)

MAAC, and the people who run the organisation has to understand one thing; Its there to REPRESENT the interest of the aeromodeller, FOR the aeromodeller.

The idea that a couple of jerkoff's want to make a hostile takeover of an organization that represents me is offensive. Especially if they dont represent the majority. THANKFULLY, the MAAC members have made their voices clear in the last 2 zone meetings and we feel we have people who represent us and are doing good for the benefit of all the MAAC members. Meanwhile, I understand there is still a power struggle from those people that still feel they have a "right" to be top dogs in MAAC, when in fact the majority DONT want them there.

Bottom line is this; I choose to have MAAC represent me because it does good for me, you and other aeromodellers. We went through a turbulent period and are now back on good ground. BUT, if MAAC gets hijacked by said jerkoff's that are not wanted by the majority, and feel they can ram their will through MAAC offices, then I opt out. Our club has already investigated other insurance sources (as have others in my zone) and we CAN and we WILL get out of MAAC if it no longer represents the good and the will of its members. Not saying we will do that (now) because MAAC is in good hands again (almost). But it is an option if it goes sour.

If the idiots were to take over, clubs will bail and MAAC will just be a hollow shell of its former self. At that point, they can have it, and we will continue to fly RC, but free from MAAC and the idiots that insist on controlling it. Lets pray it never gets to that.

Wow, nondisclosure aside, how do you copyright stolen images?

I don't think Godaddy will protect him very long from a court order when the libel suit is filed.

good luck!

Re: MAAC being under investigation by its own members!

I think this is absolutely hilarious.

I think its funny that a person starts a Blog to try and discredit MAAC and bring it down. Try and dig dirt and spread half information or truths.

The best part is that they are doing their best to remain anonymous, Asking for all submissions to be anonymous.

Why ??? Because you don't have positive proof to back up your accusations.
Or maybe..... Because you fear ridicule and scorn from your flying buddies for trying to stir the pot ????

If you have a beef or an issue with MAAC.

STEP UP And be a Man about it, instead of hiding and lurking in the shadows for fear of being known.

Have a Nice Day
