Re: What Speed to gear 2WD Slash?

You won't get 120kph in a 2wd slash... won't happen.

The suspension is too soft, the wheels too narrow and the steering too sloppy IMO.

i'm telling you man, put some wings on it and it'll fly!! xDD
you should try bringing it out onto the street at night and drive a car down with it as it tries to hit the top speed xD

Re: What Speed to gear 2WD Slash?

I'd be very surprised if you make 120kmh with 3S, I'd expect you need 4S for that.

Gearing, big pinion/tiny spur. 23/80? I'm not sure what sizes are available to fit that transmission.

Use zip ties to tie your suspension down, and run without a body. That's probably the only way you'll get any speed out of that rig. Over about 60kmh the body turns into a parachute and the truck wants to fly.

Re: What Speed to gear 2WD Slash?

Go for it but keep in mind I'm talking stock slash. If you put upgrades in it to stiffen up the suspension (higher weight oil and stiff springs) plus upgrade the steering linkages and put 1/8 road wheels/tires on it you might be able to do it... but no longer stock.

As stated, you'd be better off putting a 1/8 on road body or something to keep air flow to a minimum. I've taken my stock slash to about 60-65kph and even the slightest steering input would put it on it's lid. It squats too much stock and lifts the front end up to become an air dam.
