Servo question....

I'm currently building a 3D SPAD plane (36" wing span, appx 4.5lb flying weight, powered by a .54 4-stoke).

And because the whole idea of this build is to be cheap, I wanted to know if I could get away with using my pile of micro servos that I have laying around for some of the controls?

I already have one sandard servo that I'm going to use for the ailerons (because its the largest control surface). And using one micro servo for throttle.

Would micro servos (perhaps even two on each surface) handle the elevator and rudder on this plane?

Here are the micro servo specs:
Hextronic HXT900 9g weight / 1.5kg torque / .12sec speed

Re: Servo question....

We fly SPADS and I would recommend the control load on the elevator and rudder would necessitate a full size servo. You should have the room.

Re: Servo question....

Thanks for the input.

I ordered some standard servos from Hobby City. I currently use these in another plane. Excellent!

Hextronic HXT 6.9kg / 39.2g / .16sec Twin bearing servo $5.82 a piece + $5 shipping
