This has got to be a picture of the month canadate . This shot was taken a fraction of a second , before a mid-air , the picture is high resolution .

seems to be such a shame, both allied fighters, too bad one wasn't a Zero or a ME109.

I can picture the photographer yelling out "OK fly closer together so I can get both planes in the shot", then "DOH!"
