Re: help for quadras

Try Alberta's Littlest Airport. They sold a very large percentage of them through the 80's. And still advertise in the back of the MAA Mag.

Re: help for quadras

The only definitive way is to measure the bore.

The serial numbers don't mean much - some were put on by dealers and not the factory.

If it has 2 piston rings, it is a Quadra 40 - otherwise if it has one ring, it could be a Quadra 35, Quadra 40, or a Quadra 42.

Re: help for quadras

To find displacement, take the muffler off. Stick a popsicle stick across the cyl. and push the piston up against it so it makes a mark. Measure across the mark. Q35 is 37 mm or 1.44 in.
Q42 is 40 mm or 1.57 in.

Re: help for quadras

No problem. When I worked on them, I stamped the size on the bottom.
