Aeroworks 50cc Ultimate 20-300

They arrived in the US this week and started shipping yesterday.
I should have mine in about 2 weeks depending on how quickly they get it out to HiFlight and then on to Pinnacle

After that I will try to do an assembly thread and photos

Hi Flight quoted $950 + shipping but wouldn't tell me the shipping.
My LHS is Pinnacle Hobbies. They gave me a price of $1050 shipped.....
I went with my LHS because they are great guys

Rolly, your servos will be up @ Laurentian University TimHortons on Monday or Tuesday night. I'm sure you know where that is. Michelle works there those nights between 5-9pm.

Guys, I know this Ultimate is a little smaller then the Python however, My python without smoke and with the recommended equipment was almost 2 pounds over weight. So keep that in mind when your building. A couple of buck spent on titanium axles and Kavan wheels, carbon everything, A123's w/no regs/power expanders/equalizers, ect ect ect... . might just help you keep it down near the suggested weight. The python had a ton of wing area and even into the 19 pound range it was quiet a floater but I did have to take the pitts muffler off of the DA50 and switch to standards. I've seen reports that the MT57 is right inline with the DA50. I haven't tach'd one myself so I don't know but I would still assume that 18 pounds would be the upper limit for it.

I love Aeroworks, and I'm sure this thing will fly awesome, its just something to keep in mind. Once I had full power out of the new DA50 and it was on standard mufflers, 19 pounds was do-able, 18 pounds would be OK, I'm thinking 16.5-17 would be ALOT better, but I would be surprised if that was as easy as building to spec.

That thing is going to look killer in a roller DOD!!!

Re: Aeroworks 50cc Ultimate 20-300

Rolly,
Doug called Pinnacle Friday and made arrangements for shipping, so it may have left yesterday or it is leaving Monday. Either way it should be here before next weekend. Right behind yours.
Andrew,
The MT-57 is proving to be a torque motor instead of RPM. The recomended starting prop for it for breakin in is a 23x8. Guys are moving up to 23A's and 24x8's as beakin moves along. Some fellows in Britain are swinging a 24x10 with it on the nose of an Extreme flight Yak.
There is also video of the MT-57 swinging a 23x8 pulling a PAU Sukhoi out of a hover. The Sukhoi was 18 lbs dry and it went up like it was kicked in the butt.
So I am being optomistic that this will work out.
A fellow on RCU and Flying Giants maidened his 2 days ago.
He came in at 20lbs. But he had a heavier motor, larger batteries and regulators and full smoke set up.
I plan to put smoke, but everything else is minimalist.
AR9100 powersafe, No regulators, 2x1100 a123's and a small 3 cell lipo for the smoke pump.
I am aiming for 19lbs with the smoke setup.

Re: Aeroworks 50cc Ultimate 20-300

Well Brad, hopefully that MT pulls hard... In your case, if it ends up being a problem then you can just take out the smoke, and put it back in when you feel the need.

Good luck, I cant wait to hear how they fly!!

Andrew.
