Re: AMSOIL whats your thoughts

Hi Nick,

I've also used the car products, mainly the engine oil. I used the motor oil because I used to be into snowmobiling big time and would go so far north there were'nt any trees. Temperature was usually -40 or colder. Starting my truck could be a challange using regular motor oil. Using the Amsoil synthetic oil, the engine would crank much faster. I have to admit I used the Amsoil only a couple of winter seasons due to the crazy high prices of the Amsoil products. I have since switched to Castrol Synthetic oils and can say they satisfy my needs. Its been almost 20 years since I last used the Amsoil products. Maybe their prices have come down more in line with other synthetic products. I don't know. How about you send me a PM with the current prices for 5w20 and 5w30 synthetic motor oil. You may gain a new customer.

Re: AMSOIL whats your thoughts

I don't have the balls to use oil mixed at 100:1 or even 80:1
I have been using Interceptor though at 40:1

Seems to be a lot of people bashing Amsoil lately.

Re: AMSOIL whats your thoughts

As soon as i get current prices i will hit you up, but i am in the states, but i will tell you, i get super cheap shipping rates to canada and all over. i could hook you up.

and yes people bash everything. one likes this, other likes that, then the followers kick in. ford or chevy, DA OR 3W everyone has there likes and dislikes. amsoil is still not cheap, but to the people who use it, and have for years, you get what you pay for i think. I will let you guys know soon.

thanks nick

Re: AMSOIL whats your thoughts

That Amsoil is excellent stuff! and not too expensive at 100 or 80:1
I also use the Pennzoil air cooled even after break-in, it has the highest rating for 2-stroke!

Hope this helps

Thumbs up Re: AMSOIL whats your thoughts

AMSOIL have good products there synthetic oil is good but running it in a 2cycle engine is not good for break in.100.1 is les oil would you do this in your engine in your car no.
PENNZOIL 2 CYCLE AIR COOLED OIL is best for break in and running all the time.
PENNZOIL 2 CYCLE AIR COOLED OIL is ash-free dispersants to protect against
high temperature deposits and ring sticking, plug fouling and port plugging
