I tried another order last night and ran into a weird thing. I went to checkout and the only option was fedex, from the international warehouse. I checked to make sure my stuff was not in the US one, it wasn't, tried again, same thing. Removed the items one by one to see why, found that any of the tachometers result in Fedex being the only shipping option? Found that to be weird, why would a tachometer limit the shipping options? I can understand lipo's, but a tach? I ended up not buying the tach as the cost of it and the increased shipping meant buying local is cheaper for that item...

Did the tach have a built in lipo ??

Cuz that will do it.

Found the same thing with the servo centering tool because it has a built in lipo

Good point, I tried all the tachs they offer just to see and none of them would ship anyway other than fedex... Just checked, one has a li-ion the other is just a watch battery, however both had the same result...

Yup, Lithium Button Batteries. I was buying a GPS for APM on Ebay and they ship without the battery. Had a little "disclaimer" statement in the listing.

Ya even rechargeable AA Nimh's batteies will cause it to default to fedex so it's most likely any battery period makes it default to Fedex.

Been following this forum thread for some time and we are rehashing the same thing over and over again with really nothing new on Hobby King and their shipping policies and how they have been shipping. Bottom line is ....anything with batteries in the shipment whether in a electronic component or external ... FedEx and that's the bottom line . Nothing new...... I am outta here and unsubscribing ... Have a good and safe summer flying fellas.

That's what happens when no one can read some pages and instead just sees the topic and immediately start asking stuff

I hope he wasn't referring to my question. I sure wasn't complaining. Their fedex service is quite speedy if not expensive, but I've just added that to the cost of each lipo. Still a good deal.

Not sure what he expects from a thread about shipping hobby parts though, and I doubt anyone will read 50+ pages of it. I had an item snail mailed to me recently as well at it was just as fast if not faster as their main chinese/hk competitors. Not much drama to be had here really outside of not having the stock when I want it :P
