Andrew,

If you check Bob's web page, http://www.rcflier.com/chapter401/imac-chapter401.htm , on the points standing you will see that everyone who competes in Ontario gets their points. It's more an MAAC Scale Aerobatics thing then and IMAC Sanctioned Awards System.

From what I can tell anyway... I could be wrong though!

try it you'll like it

Yeah, the Scale Aerobatic community is nothing like the old pattern days - the guys are more into helping each other

everyone has a real good time with very little pressure to beat hte other guy (although winning is nice)

Not sure how the points work as to the requirements of IMAC membership. Everyone who competes has their points listed but I notice in the upper catagories, Sportsman on up that IMAC statis is listed.

Perhaps Bob could clairfy this for us!

As to staying in the box, the demensions of the box are quite huge.

There is a line running from one end of the box to the other end at 100' out from the flight station. No flying is suppose to be allowed within this 100' line. The line extends from centre 1000' to the left of centre, 1000' to the right of centre and then extends out 1000' from the 100' flight line!

So as you can see, it is quite a huge box so there should be no problem staying within the confines of it! The box use to be divided into zones but now is one large open box and all manovers are flown to try to balance them anywhere within the box. Points are now awarded for positioning of all manovers within the box.

As has been said, come on out and see how the fellows fly and you will quickly learn the setup. Its not that difficult and we have such a lot of fun. Give it a try and you won't be disappointed and you'll meet a lot of real great guys too! Its no lose, win win situation!
