hi, i need some help on the values of these planes (ballpark figure). All planes are 1/4 scale and functional.

1. Tiger Moth built by De Havilland during world war II.
2. Gee Bee sportster which is scratch built.
3. Fokker which is also scratch built
4. Sopwith Triplane

My neighbor(elderly women) asked if i can find this out for her. i'll try to get some pics of them also.
Thanks

As with all things, quality and completeness are huge factors. I've seen 1/4 scale aircraft of similar description sell for anywhere from a few hundred dollars (rough shape, no motor or radio) to thousands for a fully equipment, beautifully finished scale aircraft.

Can you post some pics and specs (e.g. equipment included, shape i.e. unflown or oilsoaked, covering material etc.)?

Also, location and willingness to ship.

They probably have no value. Tell her to leave them on the curb on garbage day and give me her address

well i know that these planes are fully functional but not assemble(for storage) I also know that my neighbor was some what of a perfectionist, so the motor, radio and even the covering material are in good shape. still working on the pictures. (just can't find a scanner)

Your psuedonym may be just that. Deal with her honestly and be up-front.

If you can locate kits of a similar size, you'll have a ball-park of for the basic airframe price (50% of kit price easily).

If the kit is noteworthy, you may even get to 200% of the kit price on a good day.

Hate to say it, but this is a hobby filled with cheap SOB's who are out for the most for the least. Of course, before everyone starts flaming me, I'll admit to being one of the crowd. I've also noticed it in other activities and on eBay.

Planes with engines in working order, radios installed (recent or gold sticker!), known expert builder, know expert and careful flyer will get a premium over the beat-up don't-give-a-darn edition.

If sold at an auction, make sure that there are lots of people who are flying the same sort of plane there; otherwise, someone can steal a super bargain!

I would have to agree, twice.

Anyone buying these planes would want specifics.

Wingspan at the minimum, engine make, size and condition, radio specifics. Detailed photos would be good.

HEY!!

I resemble that!!

BUT; Can you blame me / us?

A fantastic kit can be ruined by a poor builder and the mess gets covered up with monocoat.

A GREAT Engine can be cooked by a fool trying to get too many RPMs...

There is some real risk in buying second hand RC equipment, so the wise person negotiates a good price to cover their potential losses.

Plus I'm a cheap SOB.
