Calling all Canadian Combat Pilots!
Calling all Canadian Combat Pilots!
As the Canadian Provisional District Representative for the Radio Control Combat Association (RCCA), I would like to invite each and every one of you to join the largest and fastest growing organization dedicated to R/C Combat, both Open and Scale. The Radio Control Combat Association has recently been adopted into the AMA, making it North America's Authoritative Voice for Combat pilots. Canada has just been added to the list of districts within the RCCA's scope, and we, as Canadians, need 20 members from our country in order to have our own election, select a representative, and become a freestanding district on our own. This is why I am asking you, fellow Canadians, to join the RCCA today. Now is your chance to be a pioneer - as one of the first Canadian RCCA pilots in history! Why join? Membership automatically places you on the National Points Standings lists for all types of combat: Open A, B, C, Scale 2105, and 2610. (Nerf a.k.a. Slow Survivable Combat is currently under review as another type of combat that may be added to the National Point Standings! Watch for news on this coming soon!) See how you stack up against some of the best combat pilots in the world, and against your fellow Canadians. Canadian RCCA sanctioned National Points Standing events will be in full swing in 2003: Hamilton Havoc: Canada's Premiere Open Combat Meet (working title - to be changed) (Open B) June 8th, 2003, Hamilton, Ontario Contact: Terry "The Terminator" Tupper: tu77@idirect.com or (905) 679-4556 Onslaught over Oakville (2610 Scale) June 29th, 2003, Oakville, Ontario Contact: Dave "Crosscheck" Fallowfield: ddfallowfield@aol.com or (905) 827-1082 Battle over the Barn III: Canada's Premiere Scale Combat Meet (2610 Scale) August 23, 2003, Strathroy, Ontario (Part of the the International Combat Weekend - Open Combat Challenge on August 24th in Detroit) Contact: Victor "Thunder" Cherneski: vchernes@uwo.ca or (519) 641-2604 There are many more events to be announced as the season draws near. You are, of course, also eligible to compete in any American events to add to your earned points. When you compete in combat, you ought to get all the credit you deserve. The RCCA National Points Standings recognize your outstanding piloting skills in the face of battle! In addition, you are able to log into the "Members Only" RCCA Combat Forum - the source of the latest news about what's happening in Combat! Your membership also allows you to vote on combat rules that were adopted by MAAC at the last AGM. You also will have input into future rule changes, as well as voting rights for executive elections within the RCCA. Membership is quick and easy. You may join for the Executive Membership price of $30.00 (U.S. Funds), which also entitles you to a subscription to the slick publication R/C Excellence: the Official Publication of the U.S. Scale Masters, Unlimited Scale Racing Association, Radio Control Combat Association, Annual Bomber Field Gathering of B-17s and now I.M.A.C. Or you may join without the magazine subscription and get an Associate Membership for only $15.00 (U.S. Funds) Just hop to the RCCA Website: www.rccombat.com and print off the membership application. Write a personal cheque for the membership you have selected, and SPECIFY U.S. FUNDS on the cheque. No money orders, no exchange rate hassle, no problem. Pop it in the mail to the address listed on the application - and you'll have your own RCCA membership number in NO TIME FLAT! I encourage you to join as quickly as possible: You will become a Canadian member of the premiere R/C Combat organization in North America, replete with voting rights, a listing in the National Points Standings, and you will make Canada a free-standing district member of the Radio Control Combat Association. I hope you will join me, Matt "Maverick" Toth, Jason "Patch" Holdaway, Dave "Sideslip" Plank, Spike Michaud, Ted Banks, and many others who are joining the ranks of the fastest growing special interest group in R/C today! Remember, I am here to give you assistance in any way that I can - if you have questions about ANYTHING involved in R/C Combat, do not hesitate to get in touch with me. If I cannot answer your specific question, I can forward your questions to some of the most knowledgeable combat pilots in the world! (Just another benefit of being active in the RCCA!) Here's a message from RCCA President Lou Melancon: Why should you join the Radio Control Combat Association? The Radio Control Combat Association (RCCA) is a National Organization dedicated to furthering the sport of Radio Control Combat. The RCCA is the recognized Special Interest Group (SIG)of the AMA. The dues are $15 per year without RC Excellence Magazine and $30 with. Why should you join? What do you get out of it for your dues? The RCCA is the largest organization for Radio Control Combat in the United States. It is regarded as the official voice of combat fliers by the AMA. The AMA has special interest groups for many forms of modeling. By looking at the ranks of a SIG's membership the AMA can tell at a glance what percentage of their membership is interested in this aspect of the hobby. So the first reason to become a RCCA member is to have your voice counted, your presence known, and your interest clearly identified. If there were no members or a very small membership the AMA, it's Chartered Clubs and Flying sites would have little reason to have any interest in you - you would be all by yourself. Membership in RCCA gives you the credibility and strength of a National organization, recognized as an official Special Interest Group of the AMA.. The RCCA is also your voice to the AMA in making rules that are nationally consistent. In other words you can be assured that wherever you go in the United States to fly combat if you go to an RCCA or AMA rule book contest you will be flying the same rules as you do at home. The RCCA has the most active web site for Radio Control Combat on the Internet. Today there are quite a few discussion forums but far and away the biggest, most active, and most content rich is the RCCAs official web site. Not only can you gain a tremendous amount of technical and tactical knowledge you can also keep up with members in your area, check the rankings for who is leading the points races so you can follow what type of equipment they fly, and finally the RCCA board of directors uses this forum, among others, to keep the membership informed as to what is happening in regards to our sport. Please make your voice known, become a member of an organization dedicated to supporting, serving and protecting your RC Combat interests.I hope you will join in THE authoritative voice for Combat in all of North America: The Radio Control Combat Association. We're looking for a few good men. And women. As we like to say in the combat biz, Cut ya later! Victor "Thunder" Cherneski Canadian Provisional District Representative, RCCA vchernes@uwo.ca MAAC # 46554 RCCA# 402 P.S. Please pass this on to any interested parties that you know of. Thanks! |
