Well I will freely admit that I am a dinosaur. This is a picture of a 3A5 that was in my first radio. LOL

Re: JR is shipping the 28X!
Thought the initial boot was a bit slow, but I guess if it goes into a sleep mode and you get an instant on later, that's cool. I really like the familiarity of Android system. It seems like with a little playing around it wouldn't be too bad of a learning curve.
Definitely nice looking and appears to be a well built radio.

Re: JR is shipping the 28X!
Well, i had the chance to look and feel Gordon's (Trumpetman) new 28X last night!
And i have to admit, the gimbals feels pretty amazing, incredibly smooth! Almost as good as my Jeti And the display is fantastic! That is by far better than the Jeti... It is a pretty amazing TX that is for sure!

Re: JR is shipping the 28X!
Well I finally have had some time to program the 28x and see how far I can push the software and I am happy to say so far i cannot find any situation i cannot program. Not that I was expecting to but I tried some really challenging mixes and it was easy to setup and tune. The most challenging yet was a 4 aileron 4 flap 4 engine 4 elevator 4 rudder airplane with landing gear. i was able to setup a gear sequence with flap doors all proportional and controlled by speed in both directions. I was able to mix throttle to the engines to give variable thrust to each side. I was able to mix elevator to flap and vice versa. i also was able to mix aileron to flaps. The best part is that all the controls can be used a switches and I have several to prevent certain things when at full power/ full flaps etc. I also did crow mixing, airbrake mixes
90% of this type of programming i could do on the 11 but I can do even more now on this. i also like how you can have the audio alerts when in certain flight modes. IE in 3d mode i have the engine temp read out. Thinks I Like - The Voice Synthesizer is fantastic Type in any commands or info you want and it will read the info back. (flight modes and telemetry) No need to program voices or clips for each setting. The lady comes on and tells you what you want. -I LOVE the look of the active backgrounds. The smoke setting is my favorite. The main page is like a smoking icon page that moves. (not really important for flying) -I really like the customization of the home screen. You can put info or links for easy access. -Like the stick switches. I have these set for timer and for engine mixture -I love the gimbals they are very nice -28 PROPORTIONAL CHANNELS!!!!! Thinks I don't like -The vibration is VERY strong. Personally a bit much but I dont use it anyway so thats not a big deal - I was only able to watch 2 movies before the battery died LOL (battery life with just one pack is excellent) - I am not sure how to turn the screen back light off to save power when flying. (maybe a setting somewhere) Although 4 hours of use without dying is pretty darn good. - I like longer sticks and a ratchet so I will need to order the longer versions and adjust radio to have ratchet. Overall pretty minor. Overall I am completely sold. By far the best radio I have owned or even played with. I really don't know what else a radio could possibly offer that this doesn't have. For me the BEST part is that all the menus and settings for models are all "apps" so it would be so easy for JR to update or add an "app" and add some funtion down the road. Because of the android I cannot see why a new "feature" could not be downloaded and installed using the WIFI on the radio. Back to playing now. I am going to see if I can post to RCCanada from the radio.
