Re: My New Giant Scale!!

Well, it's kinda big... maybe you should scale it up some more for a next build.

Re: My New Giant Scale!!

Man, for an ARF, you are missing some seriously big parts there!! Better call Horizon Hobbies customer support for help, I hear they are good to deal with

Are you putting this together for yourself, or to flip for some cash.

Good luck. Daren

Re: My New Giant Scale!!

So little history. My dad used to work on this for a fella and had completely restored the plane about 20 yrs ago. It was flown for a couple years after that until the engine was due for it's major overhaul. Turns out the engine's crankshaft and crankcase were cracked. The plane ended up sitting at the airport for a couple year before the owner had the wings removed and stored it at a friend farm.

The plane is still in good shape. It does need a good bath and I'll likely spend a good couple days bringing back it's shine. This airframe will need a complete overhaul before it can be airworthy again. That being said this won't be the beginning of a new build assembly thread. Likely gonna be a couple year project.

Ohh for those interested or didn't know this plane is 1960 Cessna 172a Skyhawk. I believe this was the first of the Skyhawk line

Daren and Sam the plan is to fix it up and do my private licence.
