I'm gonna hang around to hear/see how others isolate their electronics!

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

What do you mean by isolate?

How stuff is wired? Or how stuff is mounted inside the plane?

To keep with the theme of this forum, Large Engines. Large being a relative statement. I think anyone that is known to overpower "Toy" airplanes to the point of 200%. Say putting a 60cc on a 30cc Beaver deserves a few comments from those in the know. More commonly called the Rif-Raf. Besides Brodie likes the attention.

I know not what to say. Possibly a few others could get me started.

Brent, since days gone by now, I don't believe there's many that use foam rubber and rubber bands anymore.

My RX's are generally mounted with Velcro (provides a certain amount of shock absorbency) and a Velcro strap.

Batts I try and use firm foam underneath and usually tie wraps.

Ignition is either mounted with Velcro and Velcro straps or if the unit is supplied, with tabs and grommets to allow air circulation.

I still do try and keep ignition components away from RX components.

Like Jack. My receivers are "attached by mating Velcro self adhesive strips, and a self mating Velcro straps around a base constructed for this purpose. Batteries similar, possibly tywraps.

Hope this helps.

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

I'm sure they (E.M.) thought everybody has a set of Velcro gloves.
