Congratulations Manny, hope you make the Show & Shine (May 9,10,11).
There may be other GP123's there. Flight #25 on mine this eve.

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

Guys,
Could anyone point me to the right "proven" header length for a DA150 and Re3 combo?

DA has told me 12" headers plus a 1/4" gap between the header/pipe measured from the flange down the center line of the header

I've been reading older threads on FG, but there's many opinions...

Any data?

Thanks,

Guillaume, I believe I had mine set at 12.5" which included the gap. Worked very well. My DA headers measured 12.25" so I left a 1/4" gap and it was golden!

This is actually for my 43% Carden 300, my ZDZ has a broken rear mounting back plate and I'm waiting for parts...so I installed the 150 for now

As for the Sukhoi, I've installed the re3s but got completely had by some joker on FG who sold me the wrong headers that don't come close to fitting the airplane, so now need a new pair of 50mm drop headers to complete the installation. I would consider a RTF if interested, call or PM me for details

Cheers,

Thanks for the info, I've started at 14" to be safe and put about 16 flights last weekend on it, it's very peaky with little low end, I can try 12.5" as a next step

Anyone else with experience?

Cheers,
