Re: great day a break in the weather

Great video, Stan. Its good to see you finally got a chance to get out there and get some stick time. Did you get a chance to test the return-home feature?

The only objection I have is on your video you call it a "phantom drone". As a model flier and FPV enthusiast, I really don't like our models to be referred as "Drones". They are not. Due to media sensationalism, "Drones" is a term that is now more closely associated with military remote aircraft with killing/spying capability at extreme ranges. When a modeller flies a toy helicopter over a prison line-of- sight and the media calls it a "drone", everyone freaks out. More calls for "Banning drones". More calls for "BAN FPV" even though FPV was not even involved.

If the media reported it accurately; "man flies toy helicopter over prison" no-one would have even noticed, except to comment that the guy doing that should be arrested. I highly doubt in this circumstance, had it been reported accurately, that people would start making rumblings about banning "toy helicopters".

Now that you are part of the RC flier community that makes airborne video,(many of them beautiful and stunning videos ) lets not give the idiots more fuel for their fire. Call it what it is. Phantom Quadcopter. Or Phantom Multicopter. My opinion.

It was nice too bad my Polaris leaked and quit on me. At least it did it right after takeoff rather than while it was over the lake.
