Indoor small heli flying this winter

I have been asked to post here to let all heli flyers within the GTA know that my LHS, Big Boys With Cool Toys, will be starting up indoor helicopter flying this fall/winter once again. There is a fairly large indoor area (there are some posts involved) and most of the surface is covered by carpet, as it is an indoor RC race track. Micro's are the rage in there and the Blade 130 (a popular heli at the Burlington club) would be a great indoor aerobatic flyer. You can contact the store for more information as to what days that it will be available. Have fun.

Re: Indoor small heli flying this winter

I do believe that the Blade line up to the 130 is the size suitable for the space. the 250 has a bit too high a head speed and if it hits a wall, two things, the blades will either zip right though (drywall) or get destroyed (concrete block) and the general consensous was that if the pilot was not really compitent with it, the blades would do real damage to others in the area. Remember that in an indoor facility, you don't have the ability to have a long distance from pits to flying area so heli's need to be such that serious wounds would not be given by light ones like the micro Blades and their equals.

So in answer to 450's, um, no, sorry. I think the cost was something like 15 dollars for the evening and it was more if there was a full day of it. There are two areas but it's been a few months since I was in there so I don't know the full details yet. I think that is is open now full time as it was on summer hours for the past three months or so. I will be dropping by tomorrow so I can get a bit more info then. Take care.
