I don't like the lack of Balsa, either.

At least the ARF builders use very little of it... Mostly ply of some sort!

ZDZ isn't the new kid on the block, They have history, been around a while. They don't seem to get the after product support still, so I don't expect it anytime soon.
I hope they realize that, as the Fan boyizm only goes so far.

3 of my 100cc purchase were made elsewhere because of it, I'm not the only one with this view.

You are right though, it is better when no support is needed at all

Yes Hanes...they are a tough sell because of it...at least when RC Showcase was around there was something...

I found they always stood behind their product if it wasn't the users fault.

I see that in my hobby as well. I started looking at the cost of building to bashing an ARF. Now the time seams to fuel most choices.
AS much as I'm getting the bug to build one. I fear it will not happen again this year.
Might scratch/copy an LT 25/electric with my Grandson if he wants to assemble his kit. Sad, but a realistic look at things here.

But I do have a set of plans here for a 1/4 scale Glider. Might be a great home for some of tis Balsa.

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

lots of the high end engine companies are all derived in Europe. Most of there sales are in Europe the may sell 100 engine in Canada a year. Possibly why the support not so great here

Plug and play does make life easy.

But in all honesty some of these arf builders are doing such a great job. It would be hard to match some of the straightness and quality for the Cost they are doing it! Example H9 Sukhoi , hard to match such a nice build for the $$

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

If you use cost as your comparison.

Hands down, the new ARF's have it. For what an ARF gives you. You can't build a kit .

You build a kit now for pretty much only 2 reasons.

1) the simple love of building
2) to make something that little bit unique that no one else has
