Alberta Trex 600 Pro with Ar7200BX

Well guys I wanted to share this beacuse its the maiden hover. I built this a few months ago and its been -20 to -30 ever since. Its been sitting on bench since then. I was itching to try it out since then so here it is. My new Trex 600 super combo converted to DFC and finally tested.

KDE 530kv
CC 120HV
DS610s
8900G tail servo
Hercules Super mini BEC
Venom 2000Mah for electronics
2 - 3700Mah Pulse Ultras 45C
AR7200BX
I have Rail 606 FBL blades for it but some more tests will be done before they go on.

I ran through the AR7200BX setup a few times and its VERY easy to use. As you can see the results are fantastic. I hovered the heli in the back yard for about 6 minutes and then charged a battery to see what it used. Very impressive! I only put 1100Mah back into it. Not bad for about 5-6min of hovering.

So here goes. First setup and first hover.

Lol not yet. At the end of the video I mentioned roll rates. The cyclics feel a little slow so I will have to go into the setup and bump it up a touch. Other than that I need some green grass! (The kind you mow in the summer that is)

Re: Trex 600 Pro with Ar7200BX

Looks awesome. Sucks waiting so long when it's cold out I hear ya. We got out flying planes and Helis today as well.

A couple tips if you want. I couldn't quite tell on the video but one thing I do is on normal mode I set the pitch of the blades starting closer to center so when your spooling up or down its not pushing the gear in the ground.

And I found on my trex 700E that doesn't have soft start if I use my throttle trim to start it up its a lot smoother and doesn't seem to spin the blades on the grips.

But the Heli looks sweet. Good luck and happy flying

Re: Trex 600 Pro with Ar7200BX

So I changed a few things. I went to the parameters menu and changed Control Behavior to pro. Also cyclic response to solid red which is the increased setting. Testing once again when the weather permits.

Re: Trex 600 Pro with Ar7200BX

Indeed! Nice maiden flight Stewart. So winter can't be THAT cold if you're flying Hmmm ... 600 class bird ... how much space did you have between that wall and the camera? Nice control.

I've been following you (on the learning curve). Seems you've been asking all the right questions - some of which I've had, I keep coming across your threads as I search RCC . Thanks for asking them (and of course, to those that answered).

Care to comment on the feel of FBL, DFC, 600, ... (maybe it's too early) from the days you flew FB and 450? Do you have the POM dampers in that head?
Are you using a slant main gear?

Re: Trex 600 Pro with Ar7200BX

Ya it's to early to tell how it really handles. In my opinion it is a way better system then the 3GX. I had nothing but complications and difficulty with it. The AR7200 has a simple step along the way to input how much the swash moves in every direction. I toned it back just a touch so there will never be any binding at all and it's very smooth.

I feel I have come a long way in a short amount of time. With RCC and all it's great members here to help that is. I love this forum. It helps you document your questions and answers and also helps me remember the steps easier.

The only patch of open area in the back is about 5' wide and 10' long (wall to camera) lol I was still getting ground effect but did go hands free for a few seconds and it held nicely. The dampeners are stock to the DFC. the slant gear and pinion are on it yes.

So far just hovering it seems way more solid and stable than any FB heli I've had. Even my FB 600 isn't that easy to hover and it been dialed in for 2 years now. Lovin the AR7200BX very much so far.

Cheers all

Re: Trex 600 Pro with Ar7200BX

Kudos! Keep the videos and feedback coming. As you say, the exchanges in this community are great! It's an interesting package RX & FBL controller all in 1. It's my understanding that it's based on BeastX. Even though it hasn't a self-levelling feature, you make it look like it does
