Like Col. Klenk and I said. We haven't even tried/mastered an upright roller yet!

I myself have never tried it... so very first input is roll?... then some ruddder?... there must be some elevator in it somewhere? .... I can't wrap my brain around it... soundslike trying to go from Mode II to Mode I...

I didn't mean to imply that it's simple...... only meant to point out that the inverted entry isn't what makes it hard.

Cheers,
Dave

Jim ... First input is rudder and then roll here we go ...
Dave .. It seems more natural from upright, JMHO of course.

Um.. nope. (Lord knows I'm an expert! Alright every stop laughing)

First input is all three inputs blended together.

They say trees are 90% air. Personally I think they are 100% tree.

So, we would not want to lead with rudder 1st and then blend? Newbie to rollers here.

Re: 2010 Sequences posted

Advanced and Unlimited are now up...

Advanced is funny. Unless I am mistaken, there are a few occurences of non-allowable constructions according to the unknown matrix - interesting to see that they are allowable in the known... I always wondered about whether the rules for unknown & known construction were the same... anyways there are two occurences of 720 degrees of rolling on a 45 downline, and also one snap from knife edge. Funny, I always thought of the snaps to/from knife-edge to be characteristic of the unlimited...

Have... to... practice...

I do... just a bit... received this advice and have found it useful.

BTW I find roller from inverted easier too. I think it's because it's only half a roll to get to the most familiar orientation (upright flight) and then only half a roll from there... never feels too far from comfort...

Re: 2010 Sequences posted

You guys and gals moving up to roller country...get happy with inverted since it only gets more intense as you move on I find like Isabel that rollers seem easier from inverted entry since the natural tendency is to go up!
The best thing to do is practice rollers on a sim from both directions and from upright and inverted. I did this extensively prior to flying this summer in Advanced and I actually like to do them. The real trick is getting a constant roll rate and timing rudder to keep a consistent altitude. I am amazed at how little rudder and elevator are needed once you get in the groove. I try to hit cardinal points (the point where your plane will be fully upright or inverted) and say it out loud but not enough for the judges to hear!
So in essence for this years Advanced...start the roll and input proper rudder and elevator and as she goes around I say "upright....inverted....upright...inverted...uprig ht...inverted and square it up dummy"!!!!!!! See, easy

Re: 2010 Sequences posted

Just looked at the 2010 Advanced. Did I say something about inverted?

I generally do. Particularly with the new ONE ROLL 360! Sheesh.
