Re: H9 The Beast 100cc Build

I couldn't resist!!! I decided to mount the wheels and landing gear.

I can't mount the tail wheel yet because I want to perform some surgery to provide a more secure area for the tail wheel control arm to mount to.

Re: H9 The Beast 100cc Build

Decided to try replacing the ring on my DLE 55 first. This was my first time ever changing a piston ring. I broke the old ring taking it out! This made me a little nervous about installing the new one! It whent in much easier then it came out! Was easy!!!

Re: H9 The Beast 100cc Build

Ken when you swap the rings in and out you can't pull the whole thing open. You gotta start at one end and work around the piston.

I did see that in the letter.
I recently had an issue trying to start this engine after it was sitting for Aprox. 2 months. The fuel was not being pumped up into the carb. Since he described this as a symptom, I decided to check. The reads appear to be sitting flat. The only thing I noticed was a slght build up of dark residue around the edges of the reads. I removes the reads and cleaned them with rubbing alcohol. I figured if the build up was preventing the read from sitting flat, it would prevent the creation of vacume as he states. As for needing to sand them, they looked good, so I simply re-installed the reads.
