Re: High Voltage ESC Recommedations?
Having flown big electric pattern planes for a decade, I would have to say by far and wide the most used ESC in pattern competition are the Jeti Spin's. Very reliable, they now have the Mezon lineup as well if you want some additional telemetry and whatnot. I personally like the Spin 99 as there is an aftermarket heatsink available that reduces the weight by 30g, and improves its cooling.
The OS lineup is also quite good, but heavier and appear (at least to me) to run just a bit hotter. Personally the only ESC's I would ever use in competition is a Jeti, or OS at the moment. Schulze was right up there, but they are out of business. Some use Castle but they struggle with high power outrunners (or high pole count direct drive in runners). Esprit models, or F3A Unlimited usually have a good supply of the Jeti's. Chad |

Ya, the $145 price tag that I quoted was the Esprit price. I had read that that there was some collaboration between Jeti (Czechoslovakia) and Hacker (Germany), but I didn't realise that they were made by the same manufacturer. Cool. So I can purchase a Hacker, AKA Jeti, at a lower price point. Thanks. Peter

Re: High Voltage ESC Recommedations?
I have used the Jeti 99, it works very well, you won't go wrong with that one and I am currently using the OS 1100 in my pattern plane (10S setup). It has worked really well for me in the last two years, I personally like it a lot.
