Maidened the HET ME-163 Komet today. HOLY SMOKE! Its fast. It had to be doing over 100mph before I even got it near half throttle. Touchy at first, but once I got it trimmed up I was ready for a full throttle low pass. Only one problem.. She picked up speed so fast that it blew the canopy off. It made a nasty vibration after that, but I was able to land it without issue. I can clearly see that the advertized speed of 160mph is easily obtainable. lucky that HET actually includes two canopies with the model. One smoked and the other clear.

Been looking for a Me163 for a little while. This one might fit the bill.
Did you get this directly from HET or someplace in Canada?

Yup! thats the plane. Bought it directly from HET. No need to pay the midle man.
Get it with the recomended setup they mention. You cant go wrong.

I flew mine very light with a 4s 2200 nano. Wasnt expecting a long flight. Others are throwing Bricks in there like a 6000mah pack but having one hell of a time getting it into the air. Gotta admit. It is a very difficult plane to get airborn. But I think i figured it out. 1/4 throttle while someone throws it up on a 75deg angle. Yup! never done that before with a jet. But it has been the only method that has worked so far. I lawn darted it about 5 times before finnaly getting airborn.

4s was about the max I was thinking of. If I showed up with a 163 making the sound that is heard in the videos, I would be risking our field and I am pretty sure I wouldn't be allow to fly it.

Did you use the 2w-25 Het motor or another?

You can get the props and spinner at HK but your not going to save a whole lot. buy it from HET for now.

Opps. I reread my post and I meant to say how much was the shipping for the me163. I have never ordered from Het before. I pretty much have all the other items required.
Kind of like the ME262 they have also. Might be a good thing those are out of stock!

This plane is such a bitch to get in the air Everthing went just as last weekend, only this time i hit the throttle and it drove it full throttle right into the ground. Think Im going to can this one for awhile
