that would make it easy to remember more throttle gives you more sail or outward , less throt brings it in or less. That is how I have my Catamaran set up.

Re: sailboat just looking

Did I read some place some one was looking for a smaller class boat to sail?
There is a Micro Magic class boat that is about 22 inches ( 535 mm) overall length. At that size you could have a few boats in the back seat. The Class is world wide so lots of information

Here is a link to the specs plus lots on You Tube as well

Re: sailboat just looking

saw a few comments about weeds. Looking at several Catamaran vids and noticed how the keel(s) are not very deep in the water.
Maybe the answer for those quick trips to the local pond. Maybe have 2 boats one for deep water and a Catamaran ( like we would never have more that 1 plane or copter/quad

We have weeds (Milfoil) growing at the west end of our course, the later in summer you gets the more of a problem they become, Its helpful to have someone with an electric powered tug that will push you out should you become entwined....we have such a person....Yay

we have used a garden rake on a rope. Throw it into the water beyond the weeds and pull them to shore. Do that when they start to grow and it slows their growth some.
The other way is a long poll like for a pool ( 20 foot, 7 meters) again with a rake on the end.
Then we bag the weeds and put then in the tree line.

Re: sailboat just looking

After viewing the videos and reading this thread my interest in sail boats became sharpened, so I made a trade for two catamarans with my box of 550 Swift parts. Can't wait till the complex pool opens!

Re: sailboat just looking

Cool catamarans. I'm really looking forward to spring, to see how sailing goes! I have a ton of weeds to get rid of near the edge of my pond. I'm thinking of renting an excavator and cutting the banks a little steeper and get rid of the weeds that way. The pond is about 100x150 at the largest area. Maybe a bit small, but it should be okay to fiddle around on.

Now that looks like a fast boat, neat.......some clubs do hold races at indoor pools using a bank of indoor fans (on well shortened cords, no doubt)

Here ya go

My buddy has scratched several from plans he brought back from England. I will take some pictures next time I go to see him.
