How about June 25th!

If there are no objections.

National Biplane day is a nation wide fun event, all you have to do is fly your beloved Biplanes wherever you are.
Take a picture or video and post it here, with a brief description of your antics.

Lets see those beautiful birds in the air guys!

Mike

Re: National Biplane day 2016

Thanks for the reminder Mike. I will try. I'm putting together a Beast 60e, so I think that qualifies

Take care, Daren

Re: National Biplane day 2016

Excellent idea!

One of our members proposed we have a Bi-Wing event at our club. He is a fan of Biplanes. Having one day a year where we can have a biplane event (Imagine if every club did this?) would go a long way to generate interest in biplanes I like it

As a Bipe fan I'll try and mark that date.

Have the 1/5 WACO and Super 'Bolt to fling around.

Are you implying that there are people that are NOT interested in biplanes?? Unbelievable!!!

It's on the calendar, count me in!

Does this disqualify my Fokker DR-1?

Re: National Biplane day 2016

Maybe you could double up on your maneuvers? Two low passes, two loops, two landings... would be a shame to not fly it!

Re: National Biplane day 2016

Dave, I would think with yours you could go for two flights and "Get One Free!!"

Re: National Biplane day 2016

Thanks guys! I just wish i could fly it for real as well as I do on the sim. Take offs and landings are a real bear at the field, yet I have no more problem on the sim than with a trainer. Go figure!

Re: National Biplane day 2016

I fly at a couple of scale events each season and when the "Dawn Patrol" heads out you can guarantee there will be some interesting take offs and landings, (usually without damage beyond some scrapes and perhaps a prop).

The short-coupling and tall gear can often lead to them wandering around or going over on the nose, especially on grass or uneven ground.
