Re: first attempt

Excellent shots, nice and clear. How is your camera mounted on the easystar? Do you take your pictures only with the motor off?

Re: first attempt

Thanks Mark. Here's a few photos of my camera mount. I can loosen the wingnuts and rotate or tilt the camera. The dowels glued into the back of the mount slide into the Easystar fuselage. At the front I have a couple of rare earth magnets which stick to corresponding ones on the plane. I add a rubber band at the front for extra insurance. I always shut off the motor when taking pictures. Even with the extra weight, it glides well.

Re: first attempt

Nice work on the mount Julian. I assume that the mount sits where the canopy normally goes? If so, did you have to add ballast to the tail of the plane for CG?

Re: first attempt

Yes it sits where the canopy does. To get the correct CG the battery has to be much further back in the fuselage. Before I glued the two halves together, I carved out a space for the battery so it can slide back into the fuselage. When the camera isn't on the plane, the battery lives up forward in the nose. The battery provides lots of ballast because I use 3S 11.1V 2150mah lipos.
