Just preference.

Truggys can plow over bumps

Buggys are more agile.

In my opinion (I am new to off road) The Truggys improved what was lacking on the Buggys, in most cases durability and ruggedness.
which one is faster on a track and which one is better to bash with ?

the truggy is way more durable and it is also alot easyer to drive and if you go with buggy there are sooooooo many otheres driving them and it is pretty much chaos on the track

In my experience buggys are far more durable than Truggies... both are very strong but the extra weight of the rims/tires on the truggy causes more strain on the suspension components, plus add the fact that (most) have longer suspension arms and you amplify that strain even more due to the lenght from the mounting point... (hingepins)

Basically there are 1000 different reasons why people will like one better than the other. It quite simply comes down to this (for me and in my humble opinion anyways)

If you want to go out and bash as well as race sometimes then the truggy is probably your best bet, the increased tire size gives you more terrain that you can bash on. However if you only want to race then the buggy is probably your best bet due to increased durability and a lower operating cost (tires are a little cheaper, bodies last longer, less breaks etc)

that question is loaded with grape shot....they both have pros/cons....
are you racing with it? it depends on what class you want to run...now a days the truggies are almost as plentifull as the buggies on the tracks....
