Super Tigre Power Ratings???

Something that puzzles me is the BHP rating of the Super Tigre G2300. It is rated at 3.7 BHP @ 12,600 RPM while the G3250 is only rated at 3.2 BHP @ 7,700 RPM. I realize that the G2300 is turning faster but the G3250 has greater displacement which to me seems that it should aspirate more air/fuel and thus produce more power. Now maybe power ratings are not as important as maximum thrust. Maybe my question should be which of these can produce the most thrust? Can someone shed some light on this puzzle for me?

Thanks

Mike

Mike,
Not sure if I am right on this but if you look at the specs your 2300 is a way up in rpm(12,600) to develop the HP. The 3250(7,700) is developing it's power at a more reasonable level. If you bring the 2300 down to the same rpm I believe it would be nowhere near the same specs. Probably about half. The easiest way is if you can find a torque/hp chart for each one and compare.
Your 3250 should provide more torque and swing a larger prop at lower rpm,s.
John
