Re: spartan hull

The hulls are identical, the only difference was the cooling system and motor/esc.

They did change the hull somewhat. Check out offshore electrics forum for more info on it. Mods please edit if this violates any forum rules not intending to violate. http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...w-Observations

Re: spartan hull

Hrmm, wonder when they made the changes. I saw a thread somewhere else comparing the hulls right after the revised cooling/electronics came out and they said it was identical.

Might have been using up old stock before rolling out the V2 hulls.

Re: spartan hull

That's entirely possible. In any case, the differences don't look like they will effect chinewalk (positive or negative) in any way.

Re: spartan hull

I can't comment on the V1 as I only own the V2. I installed the second set of trim tabs and use 2s lipos for a 4s set up and don't experience any noticeable chine walk. I assume the guys running 6s are experiencing chine as a result of pushing the limit of this boat. It's not a competitive racing boat, so unless you push it to the limit it shouldn't be a problem. If 6s is your goal then another boat made of fiberglass would be better suited to your intentions. Of your looking for a super fun boat to bash around with it fits the bill perfectly.
