Re: DLE 20 mental block - WOT or idle?

John, I realize you have the spring tension removed from the throtle. I would look and see which way it is wound. Or look to see which side of the throtle stop would hit the idle screw if it were there.
Hope this helps.
-Dale-

Judging by the direction the spring is wound, I'd say full throtle.

I vote idle as it looks closer to where the idle screw used to be

Well it is full throtle. Brodie the idle screw would stop the other end of travel.

Besides I just looked at a DLE30 carb. Cause I smart guy!

John, make sure you let us know what it is.

I would just use a small mirror and flashlight to take a look in the intake of the carb....no need to guess in my opinion....ron

Re: DLE 20 mental block - WOT or idle?

The return spring is indeed disconnected and the throttle is resting on the plate at the opposite end of where the idle screw used to be. Ergo, WOT. Thanks guys!

Re: DLE 20 mental block - WOT or idle?

Notice the flats on the shaft are usually lined up with the butterfly. I vote for WOT.

I am looking at my DLE 20 and your throttle is WIDE OPEN. The stubby end of the arm goes up against the idle screw whern at idle.

I also use an inspection mirror to double check when the engine is installed.
