Nice Ross 61 RC Custom engine from the 73. Never been run and perfect condition. These had a nice black anodised head backplate and thrust washer. Interesting serial# of A7.11
Perry carb on this model only. Ross is famous for his multi-cylinder engines which were for the most part, all painted black.

Re: 70's powerhouse

Oh yeah.

Rossi was THE engine to have in your pattern plane in the 70's

I still have one or 2 NIB Rossi Rear Exhaust engines kicking around somewhere (I think)

Totally different makers. Ross is an American.

Dang. I didn't catch that. Ross. Rossi. I never knew there was a "Ross" engine maker. Now I do

Re: 70's powerhouse

Ross was famous for his multi cylinder engines in a flat configuration, generally painted black.
This is one of first engine designs.

Re: 70's powerhouse

I learned something new as well. Never heard of Ross. The original Rossi was manufactured in Italy. I still have one as well (Rossi .65, rear exhaust) , brand new, greased and never run, in the box complete with a tuned pipe. Back in '83 I had good intensions of mounting it in a Henry Piorin (spelling?) pattern ship. Built the fuse and foam core wings, but that's as far as I got It's been sitting in our storage locker ever since. I have a tough time getting rid of anything R/C related - maybe I'm a R/C hoarder LOL.

Re: 70's powerhouse
