Does anyone remember the Hobby Lobby Tele Sport? Will be picking up a partly complete kit tomorow with the idea of finnishing it sometime. Used to be of the impression that it was just a low wing version of the Telemaster but it doesn't seem to resemble it in any way!
Anyone built or flown this old bird?

I had one ...it was a Nice plane ... it had a semi-symmetrical wing, and will fly on any good 60-90 glow or equivalent ... It flew much like a super sportster...it was capable of sport aerobatics and slowed down nice to land

The build was fun , and way over engineered compared to modern designs , should be able to build it much lighter than mine was... Enjoy !

Thanks for the reply, Hammer. Not sure how old this kit is but would guess 30 years or more. Will finnish it up & try it out.

It was a kit sold by Hobby Lobby. I remember a review of it in RC Reports. As I recall they were not too impressed with the kit. Subsequently, HL cancelled their ads. I think I may have the mag somewhere and will see if I can find the review article.
I think it will make a nice flying plane and I like the looks of it.

It is a bit like a low winged Telemaster you mentioned. That was a plan by Dick Tichenor in RCM called the RCM Sportster 40.

Yes, it would be interesting to see the original article! No rush though as I missed my connection to get the kit. It's still waiting for me at my brother's place when ever our schedules match up again.

Just looked up that link, Dan, plan#871 Funster 40, by Dick Tichenor. I think that's the one you mean. Very close but the one I'm getting has tapered wings with round tips.
