Well I was in Flite Craft today and ordered the new Yak from Hangar 9. It is should be in sometime in April. I have a DL-50 for it and I also have the cannister muffler from a MVVS 45. If anyone can suggest a manifold that will work for this please let me know as I do not have a manifold yet.

Congrats, that Yak looks great!! The DL should do great in it too. As far as a header, just find the right drop that you need, and then pick one that works on a DA. They have the same exhaust port and bolt pattern.

Best of Luck!!

Chris

Header

Karl Mueller can make you a header to fit I've gotten a few made for different aircraft configurations and he does an excellent job. All he needs is the measurements.

What's the price on the Carden H9 Yak?

A can for a 45 may be too small for a 50cc. What can is it?

Thanx Ottertok, I may need to go this route if I can't get an off the shelf one. Do you have contact info for Karl Mueller?
Scaleguy- the can I have is the MVVS 3206 for the MVVS 45 I wish I had there 3204 can as they list it for the 45 and their 58. I guess I will just have to try it and see how it works and I may ream the stinger out a bit as it does seem to be quite small. The plane cost $700 and I feel that is a good value given the construction of the plane ie. cannister tunnel, foam core wings ect.
I also just finised my great planes Patty Wagstaff this winter that I have had for the last five years. It was a lot of work as I didn't do hardly anything per the manual ie. custom carbon rods, reconfigered tail group and many little mods to reduce weight. With a DL-50 my RTF weight is 14lbs 14oz. about a pound and a half lighter than if I built it stock but it shure seemed to add a lot of time to the assembly to get the weight saving. I plan on building the Yak as per the manual and hopfully it goes together fast.

Header

Here is Karl's e-mail kgamueller@rogers.com

And that 3206 MVVS can will work on a 50cc as long as you don't stay on full throttle for long periods otherwise the engine will overheat causing piston and bearing damage and your header length should be 25cm or longer. I got this info from pe reiver's site he is an MVVS gooroo and dealer from the Nenetherlands

This plane is going to be real nice I'm going to get one too.

Awesome, I wonder how long it will be before we start seeing bigger models with the new partnership?? maybe a giant scale Edge and Extra?? Imagine being able to buy a 35-40% Carden Edge / Extra as an ARF Real nice Yak though, and it's a Carden so you know it'll fly nice too!!!
