Tuned pipe options and differences

is there any difference between the different tuned pipe manufacturers ??

MTW RE-3's seem to be a favorite around here.
But there are also Greve's pipes and KS.

Besides the difference in price, is there a difference in the pipes themselves ??

Re: Tuned pipe options and differences

Could always go with an ES Composite pipe as well ... just to add one to your selection of choices.

I just installed their 50cc pipe and had great luck with it, also half the weight of a RE2.

Re: Tuned pipe options and differences

I'll be watching this thread closely. I'm about to place an order for an MTW re2 for my DL50. From what I can tell, should be as quiet as a canister, but add 300-500 rpms!

Re: Tuned pipe options and differences

Yes the ES Composite pipe is a favorite on 30cc planes because of the weight.
A little pricey if you want 2 of them for a 150+ motor though

Re: Tuned pipe options and differences

I put a KS1090 on my DA85 and went from 6100 RPM on a Xoar 26-10 to 6480 RPM on a Mejlik 28-10. Night and day power change, and WAY quieter.
