58% Modellbau Pitts Build Thread - BBT

Well, I've been debating back and forth a thousand times over about what I should build for myself this coming Fall / Winter for my Mintor220!

I'm really leaning towards the 50% Modellbau Pitts S1 with all the bells and whistles, including smoke system! It would come in around 50lbs and would be the perfect combo for the Mintor220.

Here are the specs and website.....

http://www.emhw.de/

Here are a few great videos of the Pitts S1 (my favorite is the famous Bulldog scheme)

In terms of a challenge, it doesn't come with full size plans and the instructions are only in German. I've heard that these Modellbau kits are the cream of the crop (includes every nut and bolt + CF spinner) and it's always been my dream to attempt such a complex build. Most people have build these in about 1 year's time!!

What does everyone think - should I ?????

DOOOOOOIIIIIIITTTTTTTT!

I saw Ron Sebag's S1 at the Nats last year and it was awesome! I'm not a bipe guy, but those planes just look wicked!

Edit: Actually, I don't know if Ron's is an S1. It looks similar to the one in the 3rd vid but not the first.

Hum... you guys aren't making this decision any easier for me!!

By the way - I took out the last video, since it wasn't a Pitts - it was a Challenger like Ron Sebags, however they are the same size!

I've had 2 giant scale bipes (25% and 35%) so far and I've always loved how they flew but never have been a diehard fan due to the time they take to set-up at the feild.

However, if I did this build, it would be more of a showplane and I'd likely only get 15 or 20 flights a season with it - more of a special events type of plane!

Hum... what to do?????
