There are rarely and collisions. There is an area that one launches from and must land in but it is big enough so that everyone has plenty of space around them.

Tomorrow, Saturday, looks pretty rainy, which we really need, and Sunday looks pretty decent.

Do you know where the field is? I can give you the location if you need it. If you want send me an email.

CrickleWood:
Just curious if you made to the DLG trials? I know that Saturday's weather was a washout...but as I recall, Sunday was pretty fair. I would be interested in reading about the event.

Cheers!

Re: DLG/HLG Gliders Thread

I did on Sunday though I didn't fly. I gather that they got a bit of flying in on Saturday and quite a bit more on Sunday. I am not sure of the final results. Maybe someone else has that information and can post it.

Re: DLG/HLG Gliders Thread

We managed to get 1 round in on Saturday before the rain came, and another 11 on Sunday. A huge variety of conditions made for lots of ballast changes, land-outs, etc. Results are attached.

Re: DLG/HLG Gliders Thread

I'm looking to give DLG a try. I'm already hooked on higher end electric thermal gliders and composite hotliners. It's almost a garuntee that I'm going to love it and I don't want to waste money on something that I'll soon grow out of. I've been looking at the Go 2, Blaster 2, Predator 2.5, etc. The all up cost with shipping is pretty steep, so I though I might as well see if anyone has a used airframe out there that they are willing to ship?

Let me know what you've got.

Re: DLG/HLG Gliders Thread

Thank you for the suggestion, I'll look into it! I am leaning towards something full size, otherwise I know I'll just be buying another shortly after.

I have gotten in touch with rcc user takeoffeh and he's helped me source some parts to piece one together. I think that will be a great route of it works out because I'll end up with a top notch machine.

I would highly recommend the Binary 900 v2, I cannot say enough good things about it. 900mm wingspan keeps it small but it performs like a 1.5m rudderless DLG, it has slightly higher aspect ratio wing when compared to other offerings in the 1m category means you're going to have to work her in the air but at 145g AUW (132 if I fly without BEC on LiFe), it's a pretty easy ship to live with. I think I learned more about aileron differential in the years that I spent flying this little gem. They go for about $170 USD, I have two that I built for around $280CDN and that's with analog servos. Comparatively my custom built Neo (1.5m carbon) was $900 USD before another $200 USD in servos went it.

You're going to love DLGs, please keep in mind, my two Binarys as well as my Neo will stand to attest that this is an addiction.

Re: DLG/HLG Gliders Thread

Thank you for taking the time to provide that excellent info. I ended up going with an AJ Smile. As long as you don't live in the US (where there are distribution agreements) you can sometimes order two for a very good price shipped. Just got it finished and ready to go this evening.
