Hi, I'm new to this RC car hobby. And I was wondering if you guys could help me get started. I was looking around on YouTube, and I saw some amazing drifting RC cars, wow, wouldn't it be great if I had one. So I looked around and I ended up with 3 brands of drifiting RC cars. HPI, Yokomo, and Tamiya. I was hoping you guys could help me decide on a 1:10 drifting RC for beginners, around $150 cdn. If there are any other suggestions for beginner rc drifting please let me know!

Thanks a lot everyone!

Re: I'm new to all this!

Welcome to the forum

Drifting is fun and easy. I have an HPI E10 drift and an HPI RS4 3 Drift. The E10 is electric and the RS4 is nitro. I would suggest to start with an electric drift car. HPI and Tamiya are both good and have good support from your LHS.

Make sure parts support is good for your selected drift car. Your LHS will also have more suggestions as well.

I upgraded my E10 to a brushless/ESC set up and am using LiPo batteries. However, the stock setup with NiCd or NiMh batteries would be fine in the beginning. The nitro drift cars are faster and require a little more experience.

Anyway, have fun searching and drifting...

Thanks,

Gordon
