Which 2 stroke engine could you recommend to power the 11 1/4 lb. Busa Citabria Pro?

Re: Best Engine

Personally I would recommend a four stroke. Two strokers are more suited for zippy sport types.

Re: Best Engine

Have you considered moving up to a Gas engine??

A DLE 30cc might be just what you need to get that plane in the air.

Re: Best Engine

I would reccomend the O.S 1.60Fx.I fly 2 planes with these engines they weigh in at 12 and 121/2 lbs.The engine is light and powerful and fuel consumption for this engine is good. There was an article i read in one of the magazines about a fella who used the O.S 1.60FX in his twelve pound Citabria he said it was a perfect fit for his plane.Hope this helps.

Re: Best Engine

After further research and all your suggestions I'm now considering the new OS 22. The cowl fitting will be the next issue.
Thank you for your responds.

Re: Best Engine

I put Saito 125 on mine. The plane is a 1lb heavier than yours. With 16X6 MAS it gives enough power to make a scale like flights

Re: Best Engine

The OS22 measures too long for my Citabria Pro cowling. I'll have to consider
other options....

Re: Best Engine

I have plans of building one in the near future & will use a Saito 91. With due consideration to weight in the building process it should fly fine.
