Your right on the weak stab, wing and also the motor box. A wing folded on mine during a snap. The wing tube socket glue did not adhere to the foam and sheeting inside the wing. The inside foam opening of the wing socket was larger then the socket itself.

Re: Dietrich 42% Slick rebuild

Congrats Rick! I had 2 of these and loved them both.

What exhaust are you planning for the 150? I had a 150 on cans in my first and a 220 quad on cans in my second.

Can't wait to see the refresh on it.

Im thinking this might have come out of woodstock at one point . If so it was a great flying plane bit of a tough life but its a survivor .

Thanks Jack, I did not read anything about a weak motor box. Could you tell me what and why it's a problem?

Was it lacking on power with the 150 Trev? Since I'm aiming this air frame towards IMAC I don't feel I need to over power it and I want it quiet so I plan on putting cans on it. The 150 isn't written in stone, after I move I'm going to be looking for a good used motor. The two "brands" I tend to lean to is DA and GP, both for service, it will depend on whats out there at the time.

Yes Matt, I think this plane has been around. Heard shes had a few different motors in her. And after peeling the covering from the fuse I can tell its had a few "kisses" with the ground! The last few inches of the rudder was held on by covering alone! It has lots of loose glue joints and broken ply that need work, but that what I wanted!!!

I really can't wait to get this plane flying!!! And that it needs work is cool by me. It will be one of a kind on the field! Can't be many of these still flying!

Re: Dietrich 42% Slick rebuild

I peeled all the covering from the fuselage using my heat gun, it still left lots of adhesive behind. I used packing tape to remove as much as I could. First I heated up the areas using the heat gun again, rubbed a piece of packing tape down with a soft cloth and remove. Removed most of the adhesive. Its a BIG fuse, took a while!!

Very nice! Good to see someone else bring some new life to an old airframe!
