That's a pretty typical result when doubling up packs in parallel, you never get the same performance (voltage, current) than you would with a single pack of similar total capacity. Even with matched packs you get additional losses in the extra wiring & connectors and if the packs aren't properly matched then you get very little incremental benefit.

On a boat, we always replace and maintain the entire house battery bank together as a set.

I remember when the Align T-Rex 500 came out, Align hyped how it would work with 2 x 3s 2200mah packs in series ... well, that didn't work out as planned and everyone went to 6s 2200 mah initially then 2500-2600 mah.

No. simply no.
Internal resistance of the cells will self regulate this setup.

Dennis, please show us where a LiPo manufacturer recommend not buying more packs...

2 packs at 3s in parallel does not make 6s, it makes 3s2p

please check math, thanks

new 6s 2.2Ah will perform better than used and the technology was improving every two months to increase discharge rates

Re: can I do this? (lipo question)

Andrew;
Chad is an engineer, I am an electronics technologist, I agree with him.

I would insist that you use the same ampacity cells/batteries if you are using them in series, that or risk fire and voltage reversal of the smaller cells.

I would also insist that you use the same Voltage packs if you are using them in parallel. once again fire or cell reversal could be a problem.

Charging LiPo in parallel is fine as you are charging to a fixed Voltage, but better to charge individual packs for balance and monitoring cell condition.

Others: please do not confuse Voltage with Current, do not confuse series with parallel

Re: can I do this? (lipo question)

dont worry.... I just wanted to try running these 350mah 7.4V packs in parallel to try it. I wont go mixing/matching any other packs
