Electric Smoke System, Finally!
Well after much waiting and many attempts by electric pilots to use their ESCs as smoke machine (once), now there is a repeatable version.

He seems to be a good chap to deal with too. He's active over on the RCG forums; helpful and seems to "play well with others".
I have a couple of his sound modules, and they shipped very fast, even with customs et al. Very user-friendly stuff. |

Re: Electric Smoke System, Finally!
I have one of his sound modules and they are pretty nice. He was very helpful in getting my questions answered.

Re: Electric Smoke System, Finally!
$139 and if runs a little too long it cooks it self? You think they figure a thermal cut off mechanism to prevent that!!!
What is smoke juice, is this something he sells or you home brew to some recipe? The way I see see some guys smoke ESCs, maybe they should just spray smoke oil on their ESC heatsinks, get cooling and smoke at the same time. Lol

Re: Electric Smoke System, Finally!
Gotta start somewhere and I am sure they would appreciate the feedback or probably would have already started working on it. I noticed they are doing the pre-order thing. So they are probably still working out the kinks..
It it was contained in an aluminum box and was connected to a 555 timer start-restart-cutoff circuit with a thermal breaker then it would be much safer. Max, like lipos, gas or not exhausts have never caused issues?

Re: Electric Smoke System, Finally!
Here is another smoke system for electric planes that I recently ran across. It is expensive but looks very interesting. Sold in the US by Aero-Model Inc. I would love to try the duo system on each wingtip of my 70" Extra but the cost may hold me back for a while.
